LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR OPTIONS FOR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE

There are many forms of homeowners insurance, and individual states have different rules and requirements. Our agents will help you explore all of your options to find the best coverage and rate. Here are a few of the main types of insurance you can find:

  • HO-1 (Basic Form): Provides basic coverage for specified perils, such as fire, lightning, windstorms, hail, theft, vandalism and more.
  • HO-2 (Broad Form): Covers more perils than HO-1 and includes protection against additional risks, such as falling objects, weight of snow, ice, sleet, accidental discharge or overflow of water or steam.
  • HO-3 (Special Form): The most common type of homeowners insurance. It covers the structure of the home against all perils, except those specifically excluded in the policy. Contents coverage is typically provided on a named perils basis (similar to HO-2).
  • HO-4 (Tenant's Form or Renters Insurance): Designed for renters rather than homeowners. It covers personal property against specified perils and provides liability coverage. It does not cover the structure itself, as that is the landlord's responsibility.
  • HO-5 (Comprehensive Form): Provides the broadest coverage for both the structure of the home and personal belongings. It covers the home and personal property against all perils, except those specifically excluded. It offers more extensive coverage than HO-3.
  • HO-6 (Condo Form): Designed for condominium owners. It covers personal property, improvements to the unit and liability. Coverage for the structure of the building and common areas is typically the responsibility of the condo association.
  • HO-7 (Mobile Home Form): Specifically for mobile or manufactured homes. It provides coverage similar to HO-3 but tailored for the specific risks associated with mobile homes.
  • HO-8 (Older Home Form): Designed for older homes where the replacement cost exceeds the market value. It covers the home at its actual cash value rather than the replacement cost, which can be advantageous for homes with historical or architectural significance.
